Objet pedals its way into another industry!

Posted by scott On September - 26 - 2011

Objet technology is being utilized across the board of industries. We have seen these machines implemented in the development of consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, military, and the list goes on and on…

The latest appearance of Objet has been in the sports industry, more specifically, CYCLING! As one of the cycling industry’s biggest names, we’re excited to see TREK using an Objet Connex machine for their prototype needs. Having the capabilities of printing a single part in multiple materials has revolutionized the way they build parts. One great aspect of Polyjet technology is you don’t have to waste time with the post-processing procedures that SLA requires. Parts are built fast, accurately, and ready to go with minimal post-processing!

“This is just a great example of something starting out as an Objet part, going to a CNC part, being fabricated, and going on to either a World-Cup or Championship-Level TREK bicyle… All made with an Objet part from the start.”

Mike Zeigle
Manager, Prototype Development Group, TREK Bicycles
